The American version of The Office it has unique elements that make it better than the British version. Following the same basic structure, the adaptation also uses the faux-documentary technique to show the daily life of the Dunder-Mifflin paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

The team, also based on the British original, includes the clueless manager Michael Scott (Steve Carrell), the friendly Jim Halpert (John Krasinski), the receptionist Pam Beesly (Jenna Fisher), the successful and weird coworker, Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson), the funny and unrealistic Kelly Kapoor (Mindy Kaling), the inconvenient intern, Ryan Howard (BJ Novak), among other notable characters.

David Brent (Ricky Gervais) He is so self-centered that he fails to realize that his employees only tolerate his annoying behavior because they need the salary and want a possible promotion.

The construction of the corporate environment is so precise here that it gives the feeling that we are trapped in this office with the characters for much more than the eight hours of work. In addition, the entire narrative and behavioral structure contributed to the British series being considered one of the best comedies of all time, influencing not only the The Office American but also other series of the same format.

  1. Missing Prison Break, Michael Scofield will find a way to get on this list, because to leave he is a specialist.

  2. I know the last few seasons of TWD weren't as good, but the first 6 seasons alone are better than most on this list.

  3. A list with 115 titles and no Sopranos, considered the best HBO series of all time, is broken.

  4. Damn! 115 pseudo best series and leave out THE BIG BANG THEORY, THE IT CROWD and especially the excellent and hilarious HART OF DIXIE, it's a crime!
