REVIEW: Street Fighter 6 is the best way to get the strongest 3w3c55

Street Fighter 6 takes the fighting game franchise to the next level, delighting veterans and newcomers alike

In 1991, the world of games experienced the beginning of one of its greatest fevers: the birth of modern fighting games, with the launch of Street Fighter 2. Never before has competition and player skills gone so closely together, and Capcom, responsible for the title, saw it as a great business opportunity, spending the next decade launching different franchises with varying changes to the core gameplay. 14t3w

The number of titles, however, ended up causing the genre to become saturated, and become something more niche over the years. although the franchise Street Fighter remained alive during this time, no game matched the success of the 1991 journey, and many fans were also not very fond of the direction of the series, especially in Street Fighter V, considered a huge disappointment by many.

All this context brings us to the current year, 2023, with the sixth title of the franchise released. Street Fighter 6 is among us, and for the happiness of many, I dare say that it is not only a step in the right direction, but also a magnificent success that could serve as the new indicator of a golden age of fighting games.

Talk about Street Fighter 6 it's talking about two separate gaming experiences. The first, and completely new, is the way World Tour, a campaign for one player in which, after creating an avatar with several customization options (mine, for example, is called Theo Becker), an open world is presented in which it is possible to learn with the classic characters of the franchise movements and equip them on the character.

The campaign, with just over 20 hours, is interesting and unprecedented, and that adds more value to the final product, especially for those who like to think about what the game presents before investing money in it. The story isn't exactly a work of art, but it serves its purpose, and I don't know if that's me, but the tones of an eighties martial arts film ended up sufficiently engaging.

Either way, it's still an interesting mode even for fans of the franchise, as it's a way to see iconic characters like Ryu and Ken in unusual situations for them, in addition to varied dialogues and interactions.

The other half of the package SF6 is what most fighting game enthusiasts expect: the training modes, arcade, combo challenges and the online experience, and this is where the game masterfully excels.

The arcade mode itself doesn't have much to comment on, being the classic experience of a series of fights until you release a closure related to the character you're using. The training mode, on the other hand, begins to show changes in relation to most other fighting games available on the market, with a range of customization options and information demonstration that can both seem exaggerated and necessary, depending on the player's level.

The combo challenges, in a way, go hand in hand with the training mode, being demonstrations of combinations of characters' attacks that can be linked together for greater damage. In modern fighting games, this type of challenge is always present, but I believe that few perform as well as Street Fighter 6, presenting different difficulties so as not to scare novices and excite veterans.

Finally, we have the online experience, the part that will keep the game alive – and, frankly, the game's great hit. From thebattle hub”, players use their mode avatars World Tour to find yourself in a kind of digital arcade. In it, they can sit on gaming machines and challenge each other, in an experience that is reminiscent of the time when video rental stores existed.

Furthermore, thanks to a netcode extremely functional, the connection is hardly lagged - and even playing with people in Japan, although she is not in as good shape as when she is against a Brazilian, the game is still extremely playable.

The fight between modern and classic controls 5y5w1y

If you've ever played Street Fighter, knows well that some blows are not exactly easy to execute. The discussion around them has occupied much of the fighting game community for years, particularly with the possible fact that complexity puts off new players.

Street Fighter 6 brings an answer to this discussion with the introduction of modern controls, a way in which the different movements were abandoned in favor of directional commands. Honestly, it's a good answer, and although it eliminates some of the characters' moves, which are only available in their modern versions, it makes it easier for players to level up.

At the same time, little by little a new controversy is being born in the community, with certain sectors saying that those who use this more modern option are not really playing the game. Well, my interpretation of this is that people are afraid of losing to newcomers, and they are pseudo-eliteizing a video game. Improve self-esteem, friends.

In addition, the Drive mechanic is also available on both types of control, presenting players with different ways to escape combos, defend themselves and also get closer to their opponents, all taking into how much of the resource they have available. so that the bar is not depleted and they enter into burnout – which, much like the real-life psychological state, makes everything do more damage.

The entire Street Fighter 6 package is indeed amazing, and the graphics only confirm it. Developed on the RE Engine, Capcom's powerful graphics engine, which is also responsible for titles such as Resident Evil 4 Remake, Ryu and company have never looked so beautiful.

His muscles contract and relax with each blow, facial expressions contort with pain, clothes react perfectly to the intensity of each attack and the light from the scenarios illuminates different and realistic points of each fighter in a brilliant way. The aesthetics of mechanics Drive, with diverse watercolors appearing around the player, also refers to the fourth title in the franchise in a fantastic way, everything coming together to present an incredible visual experience that, combined with the delight of gameplay, elevates the game.

Conclusion a5r1x

I've been playing Street Fighter since before I learned to read. I experiences on Super Nintendo, PS1, PS2 and PS3 with Ryu and Hadouken, and even today the franchise is part of my daily life in a fantastic way.

I was always aware, however, of the problems it has presented over the years, even if sometimes I did not agree with the general opinion. But waiting for almost a year since the announcement for the release of the sixth game in the franchise, I was really hoping that we would have a gem, and that's what happened.

Street Fighter 6 is the best fighting game released in the last six years, and will very likely be the most influential title for the future of the genre going forward. Regardless of which franchise we are talking about, it is likely that we will see in its next releases much of what was presented by Capcom here, just as it happened in the 1990s after Street Fighter 2 gave its thanks to the world.

Street Fighter 6 is an integral part of video game history. It will be in the pantheon of electronic entertainment just like its grandfather, and it marks the beginning of a new era for a beloved genre.

The game is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S/X and Steam by £ 299.
