Avengers: Doomsday will be the next big event of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), scheduled to premiere on May 1, 2026. The film marks the return of the directors Joe and Anthony Russo, Responsible for Avengers: Infinity War (read our review) e Avengers: Endgame, and aims to be one of the most ambitious projects of Marvel Studios after a period of low box office sales and disinterest from the general public.

The plot should explore the concept of multiverse, bringing conflicts between different realities and characters from various phases of the MCU. Regarding the script, it is under the responsibility of Michael Waldron, known for his work on Loki, suggesting a strong connection with the multiversal plots already presented.

Despite the return of Chris Hemsworth quality Robert Downey Jr. — who assumes the role of victor vondoom, Doctor Doom, the film's main antagonist —, other stars of the “Avengers originals”, as Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner e Scarlett Johansson, And Elizabeth olsen e Benedict Cumberbatch, were not confirmed in the cast. Still, with the plot inspired by secret wars, one of the most iconic arcs in comics Marvel, and strong influence of the multiverse concept, more surprises in the cast are still expected.

Filming for this feature film is scheduled to take place between March and June 2025 in London. With a star-studded cast and a plot that further expands the possibilities of the multiverse, Avengers: Doomsday has everything to be one of the biggest milestones of the MCU in the coming years.
