During this period, known as the war of succession for the Iron Throne, fought between Aegon II and Rhaenyra, there were numerous bloody clashes and some battles between dragons commanded by the Targaryens.
House of The Dragon is responsible for telling the story of the Targaryen dynasty, the same as Daenerys Targaryen in Westeros, almost 200 years before all the events that gave rise to Game of Thrones. Furthermore, the story this season also takes place just 100 years after the Targaryens themselves united the Seven Kingdoms.
As a result, House of the Dragon tells the plot about the beginning of the decline of the Targaryen dynasty and the reasons that led to the disappearance of almost all dragons from the surprising universe of history.
