To create a complete and immersive experience, the studio needed to rebuild the city of Palmeira das missões with all its elements from the past, more precisely in the year 1914 – the people, the atmosphere and the traditions of the time were carefully recreated, based on a lot of technology and historical curation;
Second Jean Campos, founder of the Romeu&Julieta studio and creator of the project, the idea is to give more interactivity to the history of the place, a municipality in the north of the Rio Grande do Sulresponsible for the cultivation of various gaucho traditions – in addition to being known as 'the city of yerba mate', it is also where one of the largest traditional music festivals in the country takes place, the Carijo da Canção Gaucho.
Story disguised as a game 5p3m24
The highlight of the project conceived by Campos is not exactly in the story, although she is very rich. The big news here is to use the virtual reality to give a new face to the study of the past – palm tree 1914 is practically a game: with the help of a VR glasses and a pair of controls, the player can interact with the environment and even participate in traditions.
As a result, the project becomes the primeiro of Latin America to unite history and interactivity at this level of quality. Even with limited resources, the studio was able to present believable graphics, comparable to the computer graphics of the games e movies latest – to create a truly immersive experience, the visuals needed to be so realistic as the plot portrayed.

Although the palm tree 1914 is unique in the country and one of the few in the entire world, it has long been expected that, in the future, this type of more graphic content, such as movies and games, will revolutionize the distance learning (EAD), precisely because it is more accessible to different audiences and, of course, more interactive Also.
Reception of the public 4qe2j

A virtual reality is still not as accessible as everyone would like, precisely because of this, the studio held a kind of exhibition for the project, in about 4 days of exposure, more than 500 people, in rows of up to 2h wait, were to experience history before their eyes.
“These virtual reality tools as an educational experiment are being well developed all over the world. What we are doing here is a rehearsal, an experiment” – Jean Campos, creator of the project.
Also according to Jean, the exhibition served to show how the Interactivity, when done very carefully, can really pique people's interest in story. Therefore, the palm tree 1914 would not be a product about to be launched, but rather an experiment on the impact of virtual reality on teaching and on the spread of culture for young people, adults and the elderly.
...
As Jean himself details in his testimony, there is no way to know if the virtual reality will make interactive teaching something really revolutionary, after all, games and videos have been around for years and, even so, the most democratic and efficient source of teaching continues to be books – even if they are populated with imagery e Graphic resources.
In any case, there is no way not to be excited about the possibilities of this technology and, mainly, with the results achieved by the brazilian studio. Although the palm tree 1914 is somewhat restricted in the culture it addresses, it is important to that this is an experiment and that, if it reaches the expectations of its creators, will probably expand its themes, becoming a source of knowledge even richer.
