Hello tech fans! It's one more day Showmetech TRIO, our selection of the latest three big news from the tech world, summarized for you every Monday. 452v5g

Let's start with the olympics in space: the astronauts of International Space StationL (ISS) made their own low gravity olympics, testing locomotion and marksmanship skills in the highly floating environment. There was even a closing ceremony, which indicated the location of the next Olympics: Paris, 2024. NASA is recruiting people for your life simulation on mars. The one-year experiment will test the psychological, physical and mental capabilities of astronauts during isolation on missions.

Finally, let's talk about the fourth season of Stranger Things, which has been gaining more and more promotional material. With production delayed due to the pandemic and the scale of the next chapters, the series is bigger than ever, with filming in several countries and a great cast. She returns in 2022.

There was even a closing ceremony with the delivery of the flag at the Olympics in space, aboard the International Space Station!

As Tokyo Olympics ended last Sunday, leaving Brazilians' late nights empty from now on. What few people know is that other, more difficult and more fun Olympic games were taking place in International Space Station (ISS). French astronaut prank Thomas Pesquet it's at his Twitter, with the great feats of space athletes in the low gravity of ISS. Seven athletes, in two teams, participated in the space olympics, with four modalities of “sports”.

The space olympics started in a big way, in the floorless gym. The astronauts moved freely, with great emphasis on the Russian pyotr, who managed to the test without touching anything. The second modality was handball without hands, which involved a golf ball, wind blows, and many adjustments to the rules along the way. then the synchronized space swim demonstrated the great teamwork of the crew, who showed cohesion and a lot of creativity. Finally, the weightless target shooting challenged the concentration and luck of the competitors, who needed more perseverance than aim for the race. You can check out the competitions in full on the French astronaut's profile on Twitter.

Couldn't miss a closing ceremony for the first space olympic games, could it? the astronaut aki hoshide, from the Japanese space agency, handed over the Olympic flag to Thomas Pesquet, signaling the date and location of the Olympic Games here on Earth: 2024 em Paris. Despite being more of a joke than a possibility, the space has become increasingly popular, since last month more than one billionaire visited the final frontier with their respective crews. Who knows the idea doesn't catch on? For us non-billionaires, all that's left to do is watch.

A NASANational Aeronautics and Space istration (“National istration of Aeronautics and Space”, in free translation), the national space agency of the United States, is looking for astronaut candidates for its simulations of life on the planet. Mars. Starting in late 2022, the mission's objective is to test the body and mind of four crew on the Johnson Space CenterOn Houston, in the state of Texas, United States. Grace Douglas, lead scientist for the Advanced Food Technology da NASA, commented on the mission. According to her, the so-called analogue test will help to test the solutions needed to live on the red planet.

For the test, a Martian module was built with the name of Mars Dune Alpha, which is 158 m² and is completely 3D printed. Challenges that volunteers will face include limited resources, equipment failures and communication delays. Many tasks will be part of the crew's daily routine, such as spacewalk simulations, scientific research, robot control and virtual reality experiments. Among other things, the psychological effect of the group's isolation from other humans will be one of the key analyses—given that the planet will be the furthest any human has ever been from Earth.

Applications for the program are open until September 17 at website NASA. To get started, you must be a US citizen, 30 to 35 years of age, proficient in English. At least a master's degree in exact sciences or experience as a test pilot is also required. Smokers cannot apply for the position, and many psychological and physical tests will be performed on candidates. An amount will be paid to volunteers for the risk and stressful conditions of the tests, but the amount has not yet been revealed by NASA. If you know someone with these characteristics, you may be friends with the first virtual astronaut.

Stranger Things 4 211z39

Stranger Things, the best-selling series Netflix which had its first season in 2016, is resuming the marketing campaign after delays in production. The second season of the nostalgic horror adventure sequel came out in October 2017, the third in July 2019, and the next one shouldn't see the light of day until next year, 2022. Just a month after the production of the fourth season having started, in March 2020, the new coronavirus pandemic reached the United States. Even when filming was able to resume, COVID 19 safety protocols slowed production.

Also, the scale of the fourth part of the series is larger than all the previous ones. the executive producer Shawn Levy commented that the next season is the most epic and cinematic production they've ever attempted. The ambitious season has already been filmed in three different countries, involving the republic of georgia, Lithuania e United States, with recordings in the state of New Mexico. Part of the plot takes place in Russia, during the period of Soviet Union, where the character Jim Hopper (David Harbour) is under arrest. Filming in post-Soviet countries is pretty clear taking this into .

So far, publicity material for the fourth season from Stranger Things has been shy. In addition to a first teaser showing the character of David Harbour, we only had one scene of flashback in a lab and a very short recent trailer (called a sneak peek, or “peek”, by the Netflix), released on August 6th, where we saw only flashes of the main characters in danger. In addition to the already recurring actors, we have new long-awaited additions to the series' cast, such as Amybeth McNulty, known for starring in the series Anne with an E, e Tom wlaschiha, known for his role as faceless man em Game of Thrones.

Stranger Things returns in 2022, but still no date set.

So, what did you think of today's news? If you were curious about space or want to participate in the low gravity olympics, check out how much it costs to go to space in this our post on the subject. Spoilers: It's expensive. Keep up to date on the subject by staying here at Showmetech!
