Designed to meet the energy needs of small towns, the kite developed by the Swedish startup Minnesota promises to generate light for more than 1.000 private homes. Sending energy through wave motion, it is estimated that the Dragon 12 generates 1,2MW of electricity when in operation.

Generating energy through tidal flows and ocean currents, the water kite maintains strength for hydrodynamic lift thanks to the wing. The device is driven autonomously, avoiding the use of remote control.

The project received funding of more than 40 million euros from European Regional Development Fund, becoming one of the largest investments in European Union (EU) in marine energy.

As it is a project in development and with ideas for future improvements, the Minesto kite is small, modular and scalable, allowing the device to perform a figure-of-eight movement through the tide. This means you can get even more energy!

Minesto, in partnership with the energy concessionaire IF V, intends to build around 100 kites with 120MW capacity for Faroe Islands. With the successful outcome of the project, it is possible to supply 40% of the archipelago.

A cosmic phenomenon is expected to happen in March 2025! According to the European Space Agency, the famous rings of Saturn will disappear temporarily, making viewing through telescopes impossible for 7 years. It is estimated that the rings will only be seen again in 2032.

The event occurs at intervals of 13,7 to 15,7 years due to the Earth's age around the Sun with an axis inclined at 26,7º. In recent research, it was revealed that the rings gradually shrink, releasing some particles that fall into Saturn's atmosphere. In March 23th, 2025, the Earth's alignment will make the rings invisible, resulting in a kind of “optical illusion”.

As it is only a cosmic event in 2025, studies indicate that the total disappearance of Saturn's rings could occur within 100 million years with the planet's rotation.

For the curious on duty, this is an excellent opportunity to observe the planets from their best angle!

Does the brooch AI Pin da Humane Will it be innovative and replace smartphones in the coming years? The energy kites Minnesota Will they be able to feed small and large cities? What about Saturn's rings? Will they disappear over time? Leave your opinion in the comments about the TRIO news!
