Sang Zhi falls in love with Duan Jia Xu, a boy who frequently visits her home to play video games with her older brother. However, there is a five year gap between them. The history of hidden love it's light and soulful, the pace is slow but satisfying and thrilling. Although there are other dramas very similar to the genre, hidden love manages to stand out with more engaging dialogues and captivating narrative.

Even with the slow pace, the drama manages to develop the story well, without rolling in the scenes and that suspense that can sometimes be annoying. The protagonists are not clichés, and the dialogues are natural, without ready-made phrases, typical of doramas.

Zhe Yuan and Zhao Lusi's acting is the highlight of the drama: Zhe Yuan can only act with her eyes, and the chemistry with her acting partner is indisputable. In some of the dramas like Mr. bad e Handsome Siblings, we already get to see Zhe Yuan's brilliant acting, but it's in hidden love that he stands out. I like how Zhao Lusi has developed since the beginning of her career. She has a more mature performance and manages to bring a younger and older Sang Zhi very naturally.

What's cool about the plot is that despite the protagonist being a student at the beginning of the story, this drama is not your typical high school romance. The script makes it clear from the beginning that the plot will show the periods of the protagonist's life and growth. And the most important thing is that although Sang Zhi has liked Jia Xu since childhood, in the drama this is never normalized, and even when Sang Zhi becomes an adult, the male lead questions himself about having a relationship with her.

The ing characters are the weak point of the plot, focused only on the protagonists. Their acting doesn't stand out in front of the main actors, which is a bit annoying when you're looking for a mixed story with several plots happening. Generally, in other Asian productions, we have well-developed secondary characters, but this does not happen in hidden love.

The soundtrack leaves nothing to be desired, with some songs performed by Zhao Lusi herself. It is already common for actors to record songs from part of the soundtrack of dramas. For those who like to listen OST (original soundtracks) of doramas, you will love the track Forever Star, light song that creates a nostalgic atmosphere for the drama. In some moments, this drama manages to transport us to the best memories of our youth.

The central theme of the story is about coming of age. Hidden Love is a light and engaging drama that will charm you and leave that sweet taste of wanting more.
