The singer's Netflix documentary is actually a love story with an ending that will leave you wondering, "What did Pedro do?" Read the review

Anitta There are several versions, but we had not yet been introduced to the most closed one: Larissa. In the documentary that premiered on March 06th on Netflix, we are invited to watch a love story between Larissa, the creator of the great personality Anitta, and Pedro Cantelmo, a childhood sweetheart, who also works as a filmmaker for the documentary. Check out what we think of Larissa: the other side of Anitta. h716y

Anitta has already had three documentaries released by Netflix: Go Anita (2018) Anitta: Made in Honorio (2020) and now in 2025, Larissa: The other side of Anitta (also called Larissa: The Other Side of Anitta). For about 01h40, we watched behind the scenes of the last important events of Honório Gurgel's Rio de Janeiro: the day she was the first Latina to have a solo song at the top of Spotify Global, the three times he won a MTV Video Music Awards, a super exhausting European tour and even an illness that almost took his life.

Anitta, in fact, is a character created by Larissa, to be a strong and empowered personality. Larissa Macedo Machado, when she is out of the spotlight, is a sweet, fragile and very insecure woman.

All the work of filming intimate moments is done by Pedro Cantelmo, one of the first loves of Larissa who never got over the relationship they had when they were teenagers. And here we have the protagonists of this great love story, actually sold as a documentary.

Invited by the singer to make all the records, there is no denying that Pedro takes the lead role in some moments of the documentary. He himself explains that with this work, he saw a way to (re)live the relationship he always dreamed of having with Larissa, even though now she is also Anitta. And so we begin.

Everything happens very quickly in about 01h40. The main focus ends up being on the love story of Pedro e Larissa. The first 30 minutes are actually a brief introduction to the affair the two had when they were still minors. They also try to have a relationship again, but as the film progresses, we realize that it didn't work out as well as we expected.

Larissa explains that she created Anitta's personality so that people no longer have access to her true version, which is sweet and well-connected to her family. Intimate moments of the singer, in which she talks a lot about how she has dealt with fame (now even greater) and balancing this with personal events, in which Larissa You need to take control so that everything is done perfectly.

There are many events in her personal life: her father was diagnosed with lung and pancreatic cancer after suffering a stroke, and she contracted the virus. Epstein-Barr virus, known to cause infectious mononucleosis and to be associated with other diseases, such as multiple sclerosis. She described this period as the most difficult of her life, and even thought she would not survive.

The final act of the documentary is one of the most important parts: Larissa try to climb the hill Everest, but gives up because she thinks she doesn't need to reach the top after achieving so many historic feats and taking Brazil's name to every corner of the world. Here, you can see that the singer goes through a great transformation to understand that it is not always necessary to be at the top to be truly happy.

Made for the singer's fans and irers, the idea of presenting a new version of the singer is valid, but it turns out that the romance steals the show in all of this. You reach the end of the documentary wondering what Pedro did, since the conversation between the two was interrupted (and never concluded).

the final scene of Larissa: the other side of Anitta is marked by a great reflection by the singer upon reaching her 30s: she simply decided to be happy, no matter what happens. She tries to convey this message to her fans, who were also gifted with a song, which bears the singer's original name: Larissa. Watch the official video released below:

The most interesting thing is that the lyrics of Larissa, played at the end of the film, does not talk about the true version of the singer, but rather about a romance that has everything to work out. A love song for the love story told in Anitta's documentary, even though the story between Larissa and Pedro Cantelmo didn't work out.

Technical aspects 214466

Documentary has some structural errors, but the story is engaging (Photo: Disclosure/Netflix)

The main flaw of the documentary Anitta na Netflix The problem is that its structure seemed to work only on paper, because the execution is somewhat confusing. Of course, covering five years of events in Anitta's life is not an easy task, but the organization of the documentary could have been better. For those who do not follow the singer's life closely, important events, such as the illness that almost took her life, are shown here as a big flash.

However, the intimate moments when Larissa is on screen are the best. The greatest technical aspect of Anitta's Netflix documentary is precisely her humanity. The viewer can understand that the singer who brought Brazil's name to the music charts is as human as we are and needs a break to deal with problems in her personal life.

It can also be said that, despite being made for the fans, the company itself Anitta needed to show this more human side of her to the general public. The whole process of her understanding that it's okay not to be at the top of the charts all the time — even if there's a lot of pressure from the media — was necessary for Larissa have a peaceful life with your friends and family.

Conclusion: what did Pedro do? 4c676b

A captivating love story, but one that involves an event that forces the protagonist to put an end to everything and may even leave us with a heavy heart trying to find out what happened. We wonder if he hit on one of Larissa's friends, did something she didn't like, or simply Larissa's energy, who values tranquility, didn't match his. Pedro. Theories for a story that will not have a happy ending.

I come to the end of the review of Larissa: the other side of Anitta with the thought that the attempt to Anitta showing this other side worked, as we came away with a more human view of the great funk star. The song that ends the film also matches the energy of the film, showing the Larissa that just wants to be shown.

Despite the structural errors and topics that deserved to be explored in more depth, the film has a pleasant energy to watch, without getting tiring at any point. Our biggest question is “What did Pedro do?”, but this is a subject that should not be addressed by Anitta (or should we say Larissa?) so soon and in fact may not even have an answer.
